Blog Page Setup

The first place we'll be adding content is your Blog Page. The reason for this is that with some of our templates, you'll be featuring blog posts on your homepage, so we'll need the content in place to pull from.

To start adding posts, Click on the Blog page on your Pages Menu.

Now you can go ahead and add a post by clicking "+" on the top right corner. Here you can add the page title and content.

Below you'll find a demo title and content that you can use here. You can replace this later with your own content.

Simply copy and paste the content from this post into the Blog Post Editor. (If you need a refresher on how to add content blocks, check out this tutorial.)

This is Sample Blog Post Title

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Aliquam eu fringilla dui, quis luctus diam. Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique senectus et netus et malesuada fames ac turpis egestas. Maecenas convallis urna at nibh condimentum maximus.

Next, you'll want to add a thumbnail image. This is the image that will display on your main blog feed.

In this post, you'll find a folder that contains all of the Placeholder images you can use in your demo blog posts. Be sure to download that folder so you have the images on hand.

To add a photo as a Thumbnail image, click "Options" on the top menu and upload your image here.

You can also add an Excerpt here, which is the "Teaser Text" that will be displayed under the Blog Post Title on the Blog Feed Page. Simply copy the demo text in this post that you added to the main content area here.

The last thing you'll want to do before publishing your post is adding a Category. To do this, go back to the main Content Area by clicking the Content Tab. Then click the "+" next to Categories on the bottom left side of the screen. Type in a category name and press Enter.

For our demo posts, you can simply use "Category One" "Category Two" and "Category Three" as placeholder categories. After adding a category, it will be saved for you to use on all future posts, so to apply a category to another post, just click "Categories" and select the category you'd like to use.

Once you've added the Post Title, Content, Thumbnail Image, Teaser Text, and Categories, you can now click "Save and Publish".

Your blog post should now display on your main blog feed. It might look a little off right now, but once we adjust the style settings it will look as it does on our template.

Next, you'll want to repeat this process until you have 3 - 6 total posts set up. Simply use the demo text and placeholder images for the posts and publish each one.

After going through this tutorial, you should have 3 - 6 Blog Posts displayed on your Blog Feed

In the next tutorial, we'll be adding demo products to your Shop Page.
