Shop Page Setup

Now we'll be adding content is your Shop Page. Similar to your Blog page, if you're featuring Products on your Homepage, we'll need the content in place to pull from.

To add products to your shop, click the Shop page in your Not Linked Section. This will open your Products Manager Menu. To add an item, just click the middle of the screen. Here you can select a digital product, a physical product, or an option for services. For our purposes, we'll select a Digital Product.

Once you select your product type, you can add your Product Images, Product Title, Product Description, and Price.

In this post, you'll find the demo text that you can use for the Product Title and Product Description. You'll also find the Placeholder Images that you can use.

Simply copy and paste the demo text onto the Products Editor.

Once you have your Product Information and Product Images in place, click "Pricing & Upload" on the top menu. Here you can add a sample price.

The "Add a File" Section is where you would upload the digital file that customers would receive upon purchase. So, for example, if they were purchasing a PDF, you would upload the PDF file here. For demo purposes, simply upload the product thumbnail image here.

The last thing you'll need to do is add a category. To do this, click "Item" on the top menu and navigate to the Categories section on the bottom left side. Here you can add categories the same way that you added them to your blog posts.

For the Parker Template, add the following categories:

  • Decor
  • Apparel
  • Beauty
  • Accessories
  • Books

After your categories are added, click "Save". Now you can go and repeat this process until you have a Product published for each category. This is important as we'll be linking to these categories as we build out the rest of your site.

After going through this post, you should have at least one product per category published in your Shop.

In the next tutorial, we'll begin building out your Homepage.
