We absolutely ADORE Jordan Lee Dooley. She is the definition of sunshine, in our opinion :). Jordan is a speaker, writer, and founder of the Soul Scripts community. She hired us for a Custom Site, and we had the best week collaborating to bring her vision to life!
Jordan knew her vision and her brand well, and wanted to create a site that stood out among fellow speakers and went beyond popular trends. We chose floral graphics, pretty script font. and vibrant colors that match Jordan's personality and voice, and created a site structure to organize her content well, creating a functional and engaging website!

Jordan chats with us about how her passion for leading women towards a strong faith and beautiful life began in her college sorority, and grew to into speaking engagements and a publishing deal

GO LIVE: WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR THE INDUSTRY OR CRAFT START?
Jordan: During my college years in a sorority house, I developed a passion for helping women in the journey to faith and equipping them with practical tools to make their lives better, healthier, and more well-rounded.
GO LIVE: DID YOUR EDUCATION HELP PREPARE YOU FOR THE INDUSTRY OR FOR STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? OR ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?
Jordan: My formal education, no. I have a degree in Health Administration, which hardly relates to what I do now. However, the education I got on life, people, and their common pain points with friendship, business, purpose, and health during those years of pursuing a formal degree 100% shaped what I do now.
GO LIVE: WHAT'S THE HARDEST LESSON YOU'VE LEARNED IN YOUR BUSINESS?
Jordan: Give yourself the freedom to fail at some things. No one is a pro at anything coming out of the gate—but don't let that stop you from trying.
GO LIVE: WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU WHEN YOU STARTED OUT?
Jordan: Find help earlier. Don't be so afraid of the burden of paying someone else's salary that you try to do it all by yourself. Your work and your personal life will suffer if you do. Trust God to provide, work your tail off during work hours, and get some help to keep some balance (and not let the work you're so passionate about suck the life out of you, just because you're trying to do it all).
GO LIVE: WHAT WAS THE MOMENT YOU HAD WHEN YOU SAID, "I SHOULD DO THIS", OR WHAT MADE YOU TAKE THE JUMP INTO WORKING FOR YOURSELF?
Jordan: In early 2016, I noticed my audience would ask me the same recurring question. After sending about a dozen long emails in response to the same question, I decided to package it all up into a simple, inexpensive e-book, and sell it on my website. I figured it was valuable enough information to purchase, but not something I could justify to keep emailing people every day for free. My time (and the skill I learned that they often inquired about) was worth something! So, I put it on my website and within a month or so, we had thousands of purchases. That's when I saw the power of both resources and e-resources (ebooks, courses, etc.), and set out to build my business on offering both free and paid e-deliverables. Over time, that led to speaking engagements, contracts with a major book publisher, and more. But it all started with simply solving a problem for someone with something as simple as an ebook.
GO LIVE: WHAT THINGS HAVE YOU GAINED/ DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN IN YOUR LIFE FROM FOLLOWING THIS DREAM?
Jordan: More balance and freedom. I've got a great team and have learned how to automate about 60% of what I do. But most importantly, more fulfillment. While I believe we are called to make an impact wherever we work, I cannot begin to say how overwhelming, humbling, and rewarding it is to meet a reader at a speaking event or read a message they send, and get to hear how one of my messages (or books, or devotionals, etc.) completely changed their life and revived their faith in the Lord. Like, what?! Does it get any better than that? No amount of money, no amount of recognition, nothing compares to that. This work has taught me that more than anything, true passion and purpose is about reaching PEOPLE, not turning a certain profit or gaining popularity. That's what wakes me up ready to go every day -- real souls with real struggles that I've been given the privilege to reach.
GO LIVE: WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY DECIDE TO WORK WITH US FOR YOUR CUSTOM DESIGN?
Jordan: I chose Custom because, let's be honest, I'm a gal that knows what she wants! HA! But seriously, I have a brain that never stops. I'm all about creating resources and writing transformative content...but I also know exactly what I want that product/brand/resource/etc. to LOOK like. In other words, I don't just think of the idea for say, a blog post or an online program or a book. I see the full completed project (or a relatively clear vision of it) in my head as I dream it up. I love color, appreciate good design, and know that, especially in our day, very few will read what you have to say or explore the resources you offer if they aren't first drawn in by what they see visually. It's just how it is.
Additionally, I purposely didn't want it to look like other Christian women authors and speakers websites or follow a specific trend. I wanted to combine unique styles, add fun and clickable elements, pops of bright and vibrant hues, and create something that fully reflected me and my voice.
I think we can be so quick to see what others do and think, "Oh it should look like that," or "I should talk like that ." But I know that the Lord has given us each unique gifts and the spaces, brands, etc. we create should really stand out and be set apart to reflect those unique gifts, quirks, etc. For that reason, it's important to me to take the necessary steps to make my brand stand out and be set apart from others!
ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW OR YOU WANT TO GET OFF YOUR CHEST?
Jordan: Go Live is top notch and hands down the only company people should ever use. Actually I take that back. I don't want to share! ; ) But seriously, y'all have been a dream.
